Richard Rocha is currently a Principal with Azimuth Capital Management, a private equity firm focused on investments that support the energy transition. Azimuth has offices in Calgary, Alberta and Menlo Park, California, with broader team presence across North America and Europe. Prior to joining Azimuth, Richard worked with Tailwind Associates, a Calgary based venture builder offering financial advisory to early-stage companies. He also previously held roles with Genus Capital Management, a wealth management firm in Vancouver and the Wells Fargo commercial banking team in Calgary. Richard holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialization in Finance from the University of Calgary where he graduated with distinction. During his time at the University of Calgary, Richard was a Fund Manager for the Energy stream on the UCeed Haskayne Student Fund (UHSF), a venture capital fund run by students and supported by leading investors and innovators across the Canadian ecosystem.

Richard is a proud supporter of the VAST Patient and Care Partner Advisory Council given his own family experience with dementia. Having seen the disruption the disease caused in the daily life of his grandparents, he was motivated to be part of discussions and research to support solutions to prevent and treat any related form of impairment. Richard is proud of the efforts of his family to come together and support his grandparents during the most challenging periods brought on by dementia but also recognizes others are not as in as fortunate of a position – therefore, he wants to be an extension of support to those dealing with the disease and assist in any form possible.
