About the seminar: This session will discuss essentials of building a strong and effective academic CV. Participants will learn how to translate their academic experiences including coursework, research involvement, volunteering, and skills into a clear and compelling CV tailored for research opportunities, scholarships, and graduate school applications. By the end of the session, participants will leave with a better understanding of how to start or refine their academic CV and how to strategically build it as they progress through their undergraduate/postgraduate studies.

About Mehwish: Dr. Mehwish Anwer is a postdoctoral researcher at the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health at the University of British Columbia, where she investigates how traumatic brain injury shapes long-term brain health and dementia risk. Her research has been recognized with competitive funding from CIHR, Michael Smith Health Research BC, the UBC Faculty of Medicine, and the Jock & Irene Graham Brain Research Endowment. She completed her PhD at the University of Eastern Finland as a Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellow. Now transitioning into an independent faculty role at University of Lethbridge, Dr. Anwer is committed to mentorship and is eager to share practical insights, challenges, and strategies with trainees preparing for academic careers.
